Vasa's history

"Everybody wants to solve a mystery, don´t they?.” Researcher Ruth Rhynas Brown is looking for Vasa’s lost cannon.

In May 2019, the Swedish Navy ship HMS Belos took part in the search for Vasa's lost cannon.

Martin Jakobsson, professor of marine geology and geophysics, searches for Vasa's lost cannon with marine archeologist Jim Hansson.

Preservation

Because of work on board the carpenters at the Vasa Museum had to move the deck planks - they have not been moved for hundreds of years.

The ships foremast is leaning. Vasa Museum researchers have taken the help of outside researchers to find out why - and how to save it.
